I’m a beginner. Is this workshop right for me?

What if I’m worried this won’t translate into actual bookings?

Whether you’re just starting out, already photographing weddings professionally, or somewhere in between, this experience is for anyone looking to elevate their portfolio with beautiful destination imagery and get creative in a new setting.
You don’t need to specialise in luxury or destination weddings. Just come with a camera you’re comfortable using, an open mind and a desire to create.
If you’re newer to photography, our mentoring programme can also be a great way to build your confidence and get even more from the experience.

That’s a fair question. The purpose of this experience is to help you create the kind of destination imagery that speaks to couples looking for a more elevated experience.
We’ve used this approach ourselves to build a portfolio that attracts £3,000+ weddings, and the images you create in Venice can become part of the visual foundation for positioning yourself in that market.
Your portfolio is one of the first things potential clients see. If you want to attract destination weddings, having imagery that reflects the work you want to book is an important part of getting there.

I’m worried I’m not “good enough” to attend. Will I feel out of place?

How Is the Shoot Managed with Multiple Photographers?

Not at all. Almost every photographer has felt this exact doubt - imposter syndrome is universal among us. This experience is open to photographers at every stage, from those building their first destination portfolio to established photographers looking to create something fresh.
Everyone will be there for the same reason: to photograph, experiment and create beautiful work in an inspiring setting. With a small group and a relaxed atmosphere, we want you to feel comfortable, welcome and free to get creative.

We’re keeping the number of photographers very limited, so the shoot can remain relaxed, organised and enjoyable for everyone.
Ola & Tom will be hands-on throughout, managing the groups and the flow of the shoot, making sure everyone has the opportunity to photograph the couple and work creatively without the experience feeling crowded or chaotic.
There will naturally be some sharing and collaboration between photographers, but our aim is to make sure everyone feels comfortable, involved and gets plenty from the experience.

Will I actually get portfolio images I can use?

Will It Feel Crowded?

Absolutely. The shoot is designed with portfolio building in mind, giving you the opportunity to create beautiful destination imagery that reflects the kind of weddings you want to photograph.
You’ll create a cohesive set of images, from couple portraits and editorial moments to Venice’s iconic streets, canals and architecture, giving you meaningful content to strengthen your portfolio and showcase your work in a destination setting.
The images are yours to use across your portfolio, website and marketing, helping you attract the kind of clients and weddings you want to book.

We’re keeping the workshop to a handful of photographers, so it feels personal, relaxed and easy to enjoy.
With a small group, there’s space to move around Venice, try different compositions and create your own images, while still sharing the experience with other photographers.
We’ll be there throughout the shoot to keep things flowing and make sure everyone gets the most from the experience.

What’s included in the £550 ticket price?

Your place includes:
- The full Venice editorial shoot from 7am to 11am
- An amazing real-life couple to photograph
- Beautiful editorial locations across Venice, including St. Mark’s Square
- The opportunity to create your own portfolio imagery throughout the morning
- Optional guidance and hands-on support from Ola & Tom throughout the shoot
- A small, carefully selected group of photographers to shoot alongside

Lunch afterwards is optional and isn’t included in the price. Travel and accommodation are also not included.

At any point up to halfway through the day, you can decide the experience isn’t right for you and we’ll refund your full ticket price. No questions, no drama.
All we ask is that you delete and do not use any content you’ve captured.

Yes. Because we’re keeping the group small, there will be plenty of opportunity to speak with us throughout the morning, ask questions and get personalised input as you shoot.
We’ll be hands-on during the shoot, and if you’d like to continue the conversation afterwards, you’re very welcome to join us for lunch. It’s a relaxed chance to chat about photography, your business, editing or anything else you’d like to ask us about.
